About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you gain hands-on experience under the guidance of a preceptor.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures to ensure prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Provide patient care by offering immunizations, performing point-of-care testing, and fielding medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences through empathetic service and effective communication.
- Assist with telephonic prescriptions and medication changes as allowed by state regulation.
- Perform basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and managing medication deliveries.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members to support a high-performing team.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions while documenting patient information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market as needed.
- A preference for 1+ years of experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
