About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and participate in Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Operate pharmacy workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service to patients, including fielding medical questions and soliciting medical history under supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Offer immunizations, educate patients about vaccines, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Perform inventory activities such as deliveries, cycle counts, and returns.
- Provide coaching to team members and participate in offsite clinics.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market is preferred.
