About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a training roadmap that covers store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on building clinical and technical skills while preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on key learning experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations to ensure prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Provide caring service to patients and demonstrate empathy in all interactions.
- Follow company standard operating procedures at every workstation.
- Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and collect medical history under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and communicate with prescribers to clarify orders.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Perform basic inventory tasks like cycle counts and processing medication deliveries.
- Deliver health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law.
- Educate patients on vaccines and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and ethical principles.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to complete training within the designated timeframe.
- Regular attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations in the market as needed.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and the ability to solve problems using math.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly between duties, and maintain attention to detail.

- Location: Arvada, Colorado.
- This is a part-time, on-site role.
- Employment is based on a rolling term.
