About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap to gain experience in store, district, and regional operations. You will support the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly while developing your skills for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and key learning experiences.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify medication details with prescribers.
- Provide coaching and training to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and putting away deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations, where allowed by law.
- Maintain the privacy and security of patient information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between them.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Mathematical skills to solve problems related to prescription fulfillment.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market.
