About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment. You will play an active role in delivering patient care, modeling company values, and supporting the pharmacy team in daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Support patient safety, pharmacy professional practice, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage pharmacy workflow, inventory, and quality assurance tasks.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and care to every patient.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to keep customers healthy.
- Lead with empathy and compassion for patients, caregivers, and team members.
- Foster a team culture centered on energy, enthusiasm, and pride.
- Provide patient immunizations once state regulations are met.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver better health outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to remain mobile, stand for extended periods, reach overhead, and perform tasks requiring finger dexterity.
- Capacity to lift up to 20 lbs and perform tasks such as scanning and bagging items.
- Ability to stoop and bend to move items between low and high positions.
- Visual acuity for reading, transcribing, and viewing computer terminals.
- Ability to orally communicate instructions to colleagues and customers.
Location & details#
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina.
- This is a part-time, on-site, paid position.
- The internship follows a rolling term.
