About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining an overview of store, district, and regional operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by immersing you in daily pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap to understand pharmacy team functions.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations.
- Provide caring service and contribute to positive patient experiences.
- Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit patient medical history.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call to clarify or facilitate medication changes.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities like putting away deliveries and cycle counts.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions during immunizations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- 1+ years of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations in the market.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.

- Pay: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
