About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for a future Pharmacist position. You will assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and patients receive caring service.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and activities.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations.
- Counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication changes.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities like putting away deliveries and cycle counts.
- Offer immunizations and other health care services where permitted by law.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and ethical principles.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least 1 year of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market.

- This is a part-time, on-site role with a rolling term.
