About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role focuses on gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations to prepare you for a future career as a Pharmacist. You will assist the team in ensuring pharmacy operations run smoothly while providing service to patients.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns.
- Administer vaccines as a Technician Immunizer where allowable by law and supported by required training.
- Follow all company standard operating procedures to help manage and improve patient health.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to complete required training within a designated timeframe.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market as needed.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
