About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist while supporting our pharmacy teams in delivering patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and key learning experiences.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Provide caring service to patients and contribute to a safe, inclusive environment.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Perform basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and putting away medication deliveries.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Deliver additional health care services, such as immunizations, where allowable by law.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Flexibility to work at your home store and travel to other locations in the market as needed.

- Location: Columbus, Ohio.
- This is a part-time, on-site role.
- The position is paid.
- Work schedule includes nights and weekends.
