About the role#
This internship provides foreign pharmacy graduates the chance to complete required US internship hours while applying didactic learning in a real-world setting. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for a pharmacist role. This position requires completion of internship hours within 18 months and preparation for pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company standard operating procedures to help pharmacists and technicians manage and improve patient health.
- Perform pharmacy workflow procedures at various workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where permitted.
- Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Provide caring service and demonstrate empathy during patient interactions.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
