About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world practice. This role is designed to prepare you for a future position as a Pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This program focuses on store, district, and regional operations, alongside deepening your knowledge of patient safety, error prevention, and quality assurance.
What you'll do#
- Apply pharmacy school learning to daily operations while following standard procedures.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled accurately, safely, and promptly.
- Provide caring service to patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Coach, train, and mentor pharmacy team members.
- Manage basic inventory tasks such as cycle counts and returns.
- Support immunizations and point-of-care testing, including educating patients and obtaining informed consent.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
- Travel to different store locations within the market as business needs require.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program before starting the training program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
