About the role#
This internship provides a structured path for foreign-trained pharmacists to complete required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for US licensure. This role requires the completion of your internship within 18 months and obtaining pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Deliver care to patients and manage patient care programs.
- Process prescriptions, including SIG code translation, labeling, and counting.
- Resolve third party rejections and maintain inventory levels.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare and deliver immunizations as permitted by state regulation.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing pharmacy support staff.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized pharmacy environment.
- Greet customers and perform register transactions with professionalism.
- Comply with all federal and state laws, HIPAA regulations, and company workflow standards.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in time management, emotional intelligence, and digital literacy.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
