About the role#
This internship program is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will apply your academic training to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. The program aims to prepare you for a pharmacist role through a structured learning plan, hands-on experience, and collaboration with pharmacy leaders. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and meet all pharmacist licensure requirements within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflows to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Assist pharmacists and technicians in managing patient health and providing caring service.
- Counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and communicate with prescribers to clarify information.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns, and stocking.
- Support patient health services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law.
- Travel to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure in the state of employment within 120 days of completing intern hours.
- At least 1 year of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete all required training within designated timeframes.
