About the role#
This internship provides a pathway for non-US accredited pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US pharmacy licensure. The program requires completion of all internship hours within 18 months, followed by obtaining pharmacist licensure within 120 days.
What you'll do#
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes and labeling.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage inventory.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Deliver health care services, including point-of-care testing and immunization.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to support patient health.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy department.
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy work environment.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of Alabama.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
- Eligibility to immunize is preferred.
