About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing pharmacist education. This role is designed to develop your knowledge, skills, and abilities for future licensure. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Process prescriptions, including translation of SIG codes, product selection, counting, and labeling.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage manual claim forms.
- Deliver health care services such as point-of-care testing and immunizations where permitted.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Maintain inventory management policies and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Greet customers in a professional manner and assist with their pharmacy and front-store needs.
- Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
- Participate in store operational meetings and coordinate training for support staff.
- Identify business opportunities to improve pharmacy performance.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Must have passed the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in emotional intelligence, time management, and digital literacy.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs occasionally.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on patient counseling and conflict resolution.
