About the role#
This position is designed for foreign-trained pharmacists to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US licensure. You are required to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain your pharmacist license within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and labeling.
- Resolve third party rejections and manage pharmacy inventory.
- Assist customers with questions and perform register transactions.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the supervising pharmacist in dispensing medications and monitoring compliance.
- Coordinate the training and development of pharmacy support staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
- Participate in store operational meetings and support pharmacy workflow.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, active listening, and emotional intelligence skills.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently.
- Proficiency in time management and digital literacy.
- Experience in results orientation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Eligibility to immunize is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
