About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US Internship hours to build upon your pharmacy education. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to develop your knowledge, skills, and professional abilities within a retail pharmacy setting. This program requires the successful completion of all internship hours within 18 months, followed by obtaining pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completion.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Process prescriptions, including the translation of SIG codes, labeling, and resolving third party rejections.
- Manage patient care programs and perform point-of-care testing and immunization delivery.
- Counsel patients under direct supervision and communicate with other healthcare professionals.
- Greet customers, assist with questions, and perform register transactions.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating staff, identifying business growth opportunities, and maintaining inventory.
- Lead with empathy and compassion while assisting patients and caregivers.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and 10 lbs. frequently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
