About the role#
This internship provides international pharmacy graduates the opportunity to complete required US internship hours and apply their education in a real-world clinical setting. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for a career as a Pharmacist. This role requires a commitment to completing your internship within 18 months and obtaining Pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at all workstations.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where allowed by law.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, processing deliveries, and returns-to-stocks.
- Assist the pharmacy team by engaging with patients, showing empathy, and helping resolve patient concerns.
- Participate in clinical services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by state regulations and supported by required training.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to obtain Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of completing US intern hours.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, mathematical reasoning for prescription dispensing, and the ability to remain mobile for extended periods.
