About the role#
As a foreign-trained pharmacist, you will complete your required US internship hours to prepare for full licensure. This program provides a structured learning environment where you gain hands-on experience in retail pharmacy operations, patient care, and leadership. You are expected to complete your internship hours within 18 months and secure your pharmacist license in the state of Ohio within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while adhering to federal, state, and company regulations.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, counting, labeling, and resolving third-party rejections.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and deliver health services like immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing support staff and identifying opportunities to improve store performance.
- Manage inventory levels and maintain an organized, professional department.
- Greet customers, assist with questions, and handle register transactions to ensure a positive experience.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards.
What you'll need#
- A degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in Ohio.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Eligibility to provide immunizations.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently.
