About the role#
This position is designed for foreign-trained pharmacists to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain practical experience, develop your clinical skills, and prepare for US pharmacist licensure exams. This is a full-time, on-site role that requires completion of internship hours within 18 months and obtaining licensure within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Process prescriptions, resolve third-party rejections, and manage pharmacy inventory.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating staff, identifying business opportunities, and managing daily workflow.
- Deliver health care services as permitted by state regulation, such as immunizations and testing.
- Provide professional customer service by greeting patients, answering questions, and assisting with transactions.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Strong communication, active listening, and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
- Proficiency in digital tools and general computer literacy.
