About the role#
This internship provides a path for foreign-trained pharmacists to complete required US internship hours. You will work in a retail pharmacy setting under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The goal is to build upon your existing education to develop the knowledge and skills needed to pass US pharmacist licensure exams. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while delivering patient care.
- Greet customers professionally and assist with their questions or concerns.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, labeling, and managing product selection.
- Resolve third-party rejections and complete manual claim forms.
- Perform register transactions and maintain inventory management policies.
- Counsel customers under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Complete all required training programs.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally, and up to 10 lbs frequently.

- This is a full-time, on-site position.
- The internship follows a rolling term.
