About the role#
This position is for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates looking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US licensure. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain your pharmacist license within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while delivering patient care.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes and selecting products.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage prescription pick-up procedures.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain in-stock inventory and assist with pharmacy operations.
- Support the pharmacy manager in training and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Greet customers and assist with questions or concerns.
- Deliver health care services such as immunizations and testing where permitted.
- Participate in store operational meetings and identify business opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in time management, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 lbs.
- Digital literacy, with Microsoft Office Suite proficiency preferred.
- Eligibility to immunize is preferred.
