About the role#
This position is designed for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your education to real-world practice. The goal is to prepare you for a Pharmacist role by deepening your clinical knowledge, business acumen, and leadership skills. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in New Jersey within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Assist pharmacists and technicians in managing patient health.
- Provide empathetic care by counseling patients, answering medical questions, and gathering medical history.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Complete inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns, and stocking deliveries.
- Coach and mentor pharmacy team members to support a high-performing environment.
- Deliver patient services including point-of-care testing and immunizations, once you obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients on the importance of vaccines and document patient information.
What you'll need#
- Foreign graduate degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations within the market.
