About the role#
As a foreign-trained pharmacy graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing education. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to deliver patient care and gain experience in practice management, leadership, and education. This role requires you to successfully complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in your state within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Identify business opportunities and implement solutions to improve performance.
- Greet customers professionally and assist with pharmacy or front store questions.
- Perform register transactions and maintain customer confidentiality.
- Process prescriptions and resolve third party rejections.
- Maintain in-stock inventory levels.
- Deliver health care services, including immunization preparation, as permitted by law.
- Provide patient counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Participate in store operational meetings.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
- Skills in results orientation, colleague engagement, and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to complete all required training and obtain licensure within established guidelines.
