About the role#
This internship program is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete required US internship hours and apply their education in a real-world setting. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for a pharmacist role. The internship must be completed within 18 months, and you are expected to obtain pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on the brand promise.
- Follow all company standard operating procedures at every workstation.
- Participate in pharmacy practice and patient care scenarios.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and restocking.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Deliver health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing where allowed by law.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of completing US intern hours.
- Ability to complete the internship within 18 months.
