About the role#
This internship is designed for foreign-trained pharmacists to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US licensure. You must complete these hours within 18 months and obtain your pharmacist license within 120 days of finishing your internship.
What you'll do#
- Deliver care to patients and manage patient care programs.
- Process prescriptions, including SIG code translation, product selection, and labeling.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage inventory levels.
- Assist the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and perform register transactions.
- Provide health services such as immunization preparation and testing.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Participate in store operational meetings and complete all required training.
- Maintain a safe and effective pharmacy environment while following all regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Eligibility to apply for this role after passing the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, active listening, and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
