About the role#
This internship is designed for foreign-educated pharmacists to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy environment. The program requires you to complete your internship hours within 18 months and subsequently obtain your pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment through quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Process prescriptions, manage inventory, and maintain pharmacy workflow.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare and deliver immunizations as permitted by state regulation.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Provide customer service by greeting patients, answering questions, and assisting with transactions.
- Lead with heart by demonstrating empathy and compassion for patients and colleagues.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of Nevada.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Eligibility to immunize is preferred.
