About the role#
This position is designed for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your clinical knowledge to real-world pharmacy practice. The goal of this program is to prepare you for a future Pharmacist role. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and secure pharmacist licensure in your state within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow protocols at every workstation.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing caring service.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify medication details with prescribers.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and returns.
- Seek opportunities to expand your clinical and technical knowledge.
- Deliver patient health care services, such as immunizations, after obtaining necessary training and Technician Immunizer status.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completing US intern hours.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframes.
