About the role#
This position is for foreign pharmacy graduates who have completed their FPGEC certification and are looking to fulfill their required US internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your clinical knowledge in a real-world setting. The goal of this program is to prepare you for a pharmacist role through hands-on experience and a structured learning plan. You are required to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in Pennsylvania within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering counsel, fielding medical questions, and providing compassionate care.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Assist with basic inventory activities like cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing deliveries.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to pharmacy team members to support a high-performing environment.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding pharmacy practice and patient privacy.
- Complete training to obtain Technician Immunizer status and deliver patient health services like immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between different pharmacy responsibilities.
- Mathematical reasoning skills to solve problems regarding prescription dispensing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening.
- Ability to identify and resolve patient or colleague interactions effectively.
- Capacity to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, including lifting up to 20 lbs.
