About the role#
This internship is designed for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in a retail setting. The program must be completed within 18 months, and you are expected to obtain pharmacist licensure in Tennessee within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Deliver care to patients and manage patient care programs.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes and performing register transactions.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing staff and identifying opportunities to drive growth.
- Greet customers and assist with their questions or concerns.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and ensure a safe, effective pharmacy environment.
- Participate in store operational meetings and support pharmacy workflow.
- Counsel customers under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Active pharmacy intern license in Tennessee.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
