About the role#
This position is for US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduates looking to complete their required internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your pharmacy education to real-world practice. The goal is to prepare for a Pharmacist role by developing clinical skills, business acumen, and leadership abilities. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in New Jersey within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Support patient health by offering immunizations, point-of-care testing, and educating patients on vaccines.
- Provide empathetic care by fielding medical questions, offering to counsel, and resolving patient concerns.
- Handle telephonic prescriptions and call prescribers to clarify orders.
- Coach and mentor pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
- Manage basic inventory tasks like cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing deliveries.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
- Travel to other stores within the market to work shifts as business needs require.
What you'll need#
- FPGEC certification and status as a foreign graduate from a non-US accredited pharmacy school.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- 1+ years of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
