About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US Internship hours to build upon your existing pharmacist education. This role is designed to develop your knowledge and skills while preparing you for pharmacist licensure. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment. You must complete your internship within 18 months and meet all pharmacist licensure requirements within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Complete required US internship hours and training programs.
- Process prescriptions, including translation of SIG codes, product selection, and labeling.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage inventory replenishment.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing pharmacy support staff.
- Deliver health care services, including immunization preparation and delivery, where allowable.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy department.
- Ensure patient safety and adhere to all regulatory requirements and pharmacy practice standards.
- Manage pharmacy workflow, excluding final prescription verification.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of Texas.
- Successfully passed the FPGEE and TOEFL.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently, and a negligible amount regularly.
- Ability to complete additional tasks as directed by your supervisor.
