About the role#
This internship provides international pharmacy graduates the opportunity to complete required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to develop your professional knowledge, skills, and abilities in a retail pharmacy setting. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term. You must complete your internship requirements within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while delivering patient care.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and labeling.
- Resolve third-party rejections and complete manual claim forms.
- Support the supervising pharmacist in dispensing drugs and monitoring regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate team culture and coordinate the training of pharmacy support staff.
- Assist customers with questions, perform register transactions, and manage inventory.
- Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of FPGEE and TOEFL examinations.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state of Arizona.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 lbs occasionally.
