About the role#
This internship program is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates from non-US accredited schools to complete their required US internship hours. You will apply your academic knowledge to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. The program requires completion of internship hours within 18 months, with the goal of obtaining pharmacist licensure in Washington within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations to ensure safe prescription fulfillment.
- Provide caring service by showing empathy, fielding medical questions, and offering counseling when appropriate.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Mentor and coach pharmacy team members to share best practices and improve performance.
- Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services and obtain Technician Immunizer status to prepare and administer vaccines.
What you'll need#
- FPGEC certification and graduation from a non-US accredited pharmacy school.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 1+ years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market.
