About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your pharmacy education. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist in a retail setting. This role is designed to develop your clinical knowledge, practice management, and leadership skills to prepare you for pharmacist licensure. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of completing your required US intern hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment by adhering to regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards.
- Process prescriptions, including the translation of SIG codes, product selection, and labeling.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage inventory to maintain stock levels.
- Greet customers, perform register transactions, and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Provide patient counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Identify business opportunities to drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
- Deliver health care services, such as immunizations, as allowable by state regulation.
- Communicate with field management and corporate teams as needed.
What you'll need#
- A degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in time management, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution.
- Digital literacy, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
