About the role#
This position is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete required US internship hours while preparing for pharmacist licensure. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your education to real-world practice. The program requires completion of internship hours within 18 months and attainment of pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Manage patient health by following company standard operating procedures at each workstation.
- Execute pharmacy workflow tasks including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide empathetic care and contribute to positive patient experiences.
- Counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Accept telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Mentor pharmacy team members and share best practices.
- Handle inventory tasks such as cycle counts and returns.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding privacy and safety.
- Deliver health services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Educate patients on vaccines and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least 1 year of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Commitment to obtaining pharmacist licensure in Washington within 120 days of completing internship hours.
