About the role#
As a foreign pharmacy graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to transition into a pharmacist role. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your education to real-world practice. This program requires you to finish your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in Iowa within 120 days of completing your intern hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow to help pharmacists and technicians manage patient health.
- Provide patient care by offering immunizations, point-of-care testing, and fielding medical questions.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care during pick-up, drive-thru, and phone interactions.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Mentor pharmacy team members and share best practices to support a high-performing team.
- Perform inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns, and processing medication deliveries.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions while following public health reporting requirements.
- Travel to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
