About the role#
This position is designed for foreign-educated pharmacy graduates who have completed their FPGEC certification. You will complete your required US internship hours to prepare for a future role as a licensed pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor, following a structured learning plan to build your clinical, technical, and leadership skills. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain state pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy operations by following company standard operating procedures at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Assist pharmacists and technicians in delivering patient care, including offering immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted.
- Provide patient counseling and answer medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Handle telephonic prescriptions and communicate with prescribers to clarify medication orders.
- Manage inventory tasks such as processing deliveries, performing cycle counts, and handling returns.
- Coach and mentor pharmacy team members to share best practices.
- Travel to other stores within the market to support shifts as needed.
- Educate patients on vaccines and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy and FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- At least 1 year of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Capability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, reaching, stooping, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and the ability to explain information clearly to patients and colleagues.
- Mathematical ability to calculate dosages and prescription supplies.
- Ability to maintain focus, shift tasks quickly, and solve problems in a busy environment.
