About the role#
This position is designed for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the necessary experience to transition into a pharmacist role. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain state pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while delivering quality patient care.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and resolving third-party rejections.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Lead patient care programs and identify business opportunities to drive pharmacy growth.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Assist customers with questions, perform register transactions, and maintain inventory levels.
- Prepare and deliver immunizations as allowable by state regulation.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state regulations.
What you'll need#
- A degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Strong communication, active listening, and emotional intelligence skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 lbs.
- Capability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
