About the role#
This internship program is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will apply your academic training to real-world pharmacy practice under the guidance of a preceptor. The goal is to prepare you for a Pharmacist role by developing your clinical skills, business acumen, and leadership abilities. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain state pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify details as needed.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and returns-to-stocks.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer them to the Pharmacist-on-duty for specific questions.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and safety.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Commitment to obtaining pharmacist licensure in Minnesota within 120 days of completing your US intern hours.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
