About the role#
This internship program is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours and gain real-world experience. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop your clinical knowledge, business acumen, and leadership skills. The program requires you to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Complete basic inventory activities like cycle counts and returns.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members.
- Travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
- Support immunizations and monitor for adverse reactions where permissible.
What you'll need#
- Foreign graduate degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service is preferred.
