About the role#
This position is for foreign-trained pharmacists seeking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US licensure. This is a full-time role that requires completion of all internship requirements within 18 months and obtaining state pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Process prescriptions, including SIG code translation, drug measurement, and resolving third-party rejections.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Deliver health care services, including immunization preparation and administration.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Maintain inventory management policies and assist with daily pharmacy operations.
- Greet customers, assist with their questions, and help maintain a professional pharmacy environment.
- Identify business opportunities to drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state where the position is located.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Completion of all required training programs.
