About the role#
As an International Pharmacy Intern, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your pharmacy education. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide patient care and support pharmacy operations. This role requires you to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in Pennsylvania within 120 days of completing your intern hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Process prescriptions, resolve third-party rejections, and manage pharmacy inventory.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare and deliver immunizations as allowable by state regulation.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Identify business opportunities to improve performance and implement solutions.
- Perform register transactions and assist customers with questions or concerns.
- Coordinate training and development for pharmacy support staff.
What you'll need#
- A doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in Pennsylvania.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
- Ability to complete all required training and obtain necessary licensure within established guidelines.
