About the role#
This internship is designed for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US licensure. You must complete your internship within 18 months and meet all pharmacist licensure requirements within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Perform patient safety and regulatory activities while maintaining pharmacy standards.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes and resolving third-party rejections.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and workflow to ensure efficient operations.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing staff and identifying opportunities to drive business growth.
- Immunize patients as allowed by state regulations.
- Provide customer service by greeting patients and assisting with questions or concerns.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Eligibility to immunize is preferred.
