About the role#
This position is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will apply your academic training to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. The goal is to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to become a licensed pharmacist. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in Nebraska within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the safe and effective operation of the pharmacy by following all company standard operating procedures.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide empathetic care to patients, including offering counseling and fielding medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Coach, train, and mentor pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory activities such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, and returns.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, while monitoring for and responding to adverse vaccine reactions.
What you'll need#
- Foreign graduate degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- 1+ years of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market.
