About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing pharmacist education. This role is designed to develop your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective work environment while delivering care to patients. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based within 120 days of completing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while focusing on patient safety and quality assurance.
- Process prescriptions, manage inventory, and handle workflow management.
- Perform register transactions and assist customers with questions or concerns.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Identify business opportunities and implement solutions to improve performance.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to help keep customers and patients healthy.
- Maintain compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, and company policies.
What you'll need#
- A doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
