About the role#
As an International Pharmacy Intern, you will complete your required US internship hours while working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to build upon their existing education and prepare for pharmacist licensure. You will participate in a mixed modality learning plan and are expected to complete your internship within 18 months. You must obtain pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based within 120 days of completing your required US internship hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while delivering care to patients.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and labeling.
- Resolve third party rejections and manage manual claim forms.
- Maintain inventory and follow workflow management standards.
- Deliver health care services such as point-of-care testing and immunization.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Coordinate and implement training for pharmacy support staff.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with all federal and state laws.
What you'll need#
- A doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

- This is a full-time, on-site position.
- The role operates on a rolling term basis.
