About the role#
This internship program is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to pursue pharmacist licensure. This role requires you to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while focusing on patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Process prescriptions, resolve third-party rejections, and manage inventory levels.
- Greet customers, answer phones, and assist with register transactions.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Identify business opportunities to drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
- Adapt to changes in a community healthcare setting and facilitate a team-oriented culture.
- Participate in store operational meetings and maintain a clean, organized department.
- Deliver healthcare services, such as immunizations, as allowable by state regulation and your individual certifications.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of Oklahoma.
- Ability to complete the internship program within 18 months.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Eligibility to immunize.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
