About the role#
This position is for foreign pharmacy graduates who have completed their education at a non-US accredited school and hold FPGEC certification. You will complete your required US internship hours while working as part of a pharmacy team. The goal is to prepare you for a pharmacist role by applying your education to real-world practice. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of finishing your intern hours.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams by following standard operating procedures and workflow protocols for production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to patient care by offering immunizations, point-of-care testing, and fielding medical questions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching and training to pharmacy team members to share best practices.
- Manage basic inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns to stock, and processing deliveries.
- Complete Technician Immunizer status training to prepare and administer vaccines and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and safety.
What you'll need#
- Foreign graduate degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy and FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks like typing and reaching.
