About the role#
As a foreign pharmacy graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing education. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for full pharmacist licensure. You must complete these internship hours within 18 months and obtain state pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Perform professional practice tasks, including prescription processing, SIG code translation, drug labeling, and resolving third party rejections.
- Counsel patients on medications and medical history under pharmacist supervision.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and daily workflow.
- Greet customers and handle register transactions.
- Lead and motivate pharmacy support staff to maximize team performance.
- Prepare and deliver immunizations as permitted by state regulation.
What you'll need#
- A doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently.
- Proficiency in skills such as active listening, time management, and conflict resolution.
